What you will do
The Professional Services team at Platform24 is responsible for implementing customer solutions and for tailoring the SaaS platform to our customers’ needs through configuration and integrations. As Engineering Manager you will lead a team of solution architects, integrations developers and QA engineers that together make up the Professional Services Engineering (PSE) team.
In the role as Engineering Manager for PSE, you will be responsible for attracting, developing, leading, and retaining a cross-functional team of brilliant engineers. It will be up to you to make sure that your team has the competence and tools to help reach their goals. As a part of the Professional Services management team, we also expect you to take part in strategic discussions and in defining the plan for growing our business in new markets.
You will work in close collaboration with the Product Manager who is responsible for the product roadmap for our integration product, to make sure that your team executes and delivers on their goals and commitments.
You will report to the Chief Customer Services Officer at Platform24, but you will also participate in the Engineering Leadership team (CTO, your peer Engineering Managers, and Architects) to make sure that we learn from each other and together build a great and high performing engineering organization with a great engineering culture.
Responsibilities of this role include
- Coach and support individual team members
- Recruit and grow the team
- Together with the functional team leads maximize team performance by ensuring that the team is collaborating and working in an effective way
- Ensure that the team delivers on its commitments
- Hold technical responsibility for the team’s domains including artifacts such as code, test cases, tooling, and documentation
- Contribute within the Professional Services as well as the Engineering leadership teams to develop the organization as a whole
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 3 years in a role with people responsibility in an engineering team
- A strong background of agile software development
- Deep technical knowledge of systems design and architecture
- Understanding of the problem domain of system integrations
- Strong communication skills, you convey information with clarity and listen effectively
- Passion for people and for helping your team members grow.
